Kelvin Holly

Lead Guitarist

Guitarist Kelvin Holly moved to Muscle Shoals in 1991 and immediately joined “The Decoys” a popular rhythm and blues band founded by renowned producer and musician Johnny Sandlin.

 

As house producer at Capricorn Records, Sandlin produced the Allman Brothers and many other world-class bands. Holly’s association with Sandlin led to the beginning of his recording career at Duck Tape studio in Decatur, Alabama. Holly’s remarkable career has included live performances and recordings with a wide range of artists including Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Neil Young, Gregg Allman, Percy Sledge, Clarence Carter, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wilson Picket, John Fogerty, Jason Isbell, Drive By Truckers, the Marshall Tucker Band, The Oak Ridge Boys, Marty Stewart, Billy Ray Cyrus and many more.

 

He was a member of the Grammy-winning Amazing Rhythm Aces band for 25 years and spent 18 years as lead guitarist for Little Richard. Holly is featured on all four albums recorded by Pegi Young, the late wife of Neil Young. Through the years he has appeared on numerous live TV shows including David Letterman, the Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien, American Music Awards and the Grammy Awards. He was featured in an HBO special that was recorded at the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
